A £500 donation from local housebuilder Cotswold Homes has helped pupils at St Andrew’s Primary School in Cromhall make the most of their own World Cup excitement.

The contribution enabled the school to purchase new sports equipment, including football kits, balls and nets, just as football fever swept through the school during the tournament.

Pupils have been enthusiastically following the competition, with the new equipment giving them even more opportunities to get involved in the game during PE lessons and breaktimes.

Graham Pike, Head Teacher at St Andrew’s, said: “As you’d imagine, the pupils have been absolutely enthralled with the World Cup and the progress of the England team. The timing of Cotswold Homes’ donation couldn’t have been better, allowing us to invest in new football equipment that the children are already enjoying. We’d like to say a huge thank you to Cotswold Homes for its generosity and support.”

Sarah Williams, Sales and Marketing Director at Cotswold Homes, said: “We’re delighted to support the school and help encourage children to enjoy being active and taking part in sport. It’s been wonderful to see the excitement the World Cup has generated, and we hope the new equipment will inspire pupils to keep playing football and enjoying sport long after the tournament has finished.

“Supporting local schools and the communities in which we build is incredibly important to us, and we’re pleased we could make a positive contribution.”

Cotswold Homes is building new homes at Quarry Fold in Cromhall and has just opened its Welcome Centre to prospective buyers.
