Local school pupils visit new homes development in Coaley

Three pupils from Coaley Church of England Primary Academy have been given a special behind-the-scenes glimpse of the housebuilding industry after winning a competition run by Cotswold Homes.
The pupils were invited to the housebuilder’s new development, The Buttercups in Coaley, where they got the chance to see a working construction site, meet members of the team and take a look around the development’s newly opened show home.
The visit was part of a competition launched by Cotswold Homes earlier this year, which challenged pupils to create ideas for the children’s bedroom. As part of their visit, the winning pupils were also experienced what goes on behind the scenes at a new housing development.
For the pupils, the visit provided an opportunity to see first-hand how homes progress from construction through to completion, as well as exploring one of the finished homes.
Jen Thomas, Headteacher at Coaley Church of England Primary Academy, said: “The children loved the visit and to see a working site and a brand-new show home was very exciting.”

Located on the edge of the village, The Buttercups comprises just 17 high-quality three- and four-bedroom homes, designed to combine contemporary living with the character of their Cotswold setting.
The development is already proving popular, with only two four bedroom properties left to sell.
Spacious, light-filled interiors, open-plan layouts and high-quality finishes feature throughout the homes, while a range of energy-efficient technologies has been incorporated to support more sustainable living.
Homes feature air source heat pumps, photovoltaic solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, alongside underfloor heating and high-quality integrated appliances.
Sarah Williams, Sales and Marketing Director at Cotswold Homes, said: “It was lovely to welcome pupils from the local school to The Buttercups and try and answer all their questions!
“Giving young people the opportunity to see a working construction site and discover the different skills and careers involved in creating new homes is incredibly valuable, and we hope the visit gave them an insight into an industry that offers a wide range of opportunities.
“The Buttercups has been very popular with a wide range of different buyers wanting to live in this delightful village. Our show home gives prospective buyers the opportunity to experience the quality, design and attention to detail for themselves and they are now to view the remaining two properties.”
Sustainability is also central to the development, with every home incorporating energy-efficient features designed to support more comfortable and environmentally conscious modern living.
Set on the edge of the Cotswold Hills, Coaley offers a combination of village life and easy access to the surrounding countryside, making it an attractive location for families, couples and those seeking a more relaxed lifestyle.
The Buttercups show home is open Thursday to Monday, from 10am to 5pm, with prices starting from £570,000
