WE GET THE SCHOOL SUMMER FAYRE SEASON OFF TO AN EARLY START
Mon, 3 June
The Ridge Junior School and neighbouring Broadway Infants School received the cash from Yate-based housebuilder Cotswold Homes which is building new homes locally in Chipping Sodbury.
Commenting on the company’s support, Summer Fayre Committee member Jinny Palmer said: ‘This means a lot to us and I hope that other local firms will follow Cotswold Homes’ example.
‘This year we are raising money to pay for two interactive screens for use in classrooms at Broadway Infants as well as tepees and monkey bars for the school field at The Ridge.’
Last year the event raised £3,800 which helped to pay for a big landscaped sandpit which is used by pupils at both schools.
‘We’re proud to be able to give something back to the local communities living near our developments across the region,’ says Cotswold Homes’ sales and marketing director Terri Hayes-Pugh. ‘In addition to schools and scouts we have supported churches and charities, concerts and conservation projects with sponsorships and donations.’
In Chipping Sodbury, where Cotswold Homes is building a mix of family homes and detached bungalows on its Florence Gardens development in a leafy enclave off Trinity Lane, the initial phase of the scheme has proved so popular that it is almost sold out. Terri’s advice is that buyers need to move fast if they are keen to secure one of the properties.
Prices of the new homes start at £399,000.
